CIN CIN FOR ITALIAN WINES !

Italian wines are enjoying an exportation boom, according to the latest report from IWIF (Italian Wine & Food Institute). From its head office in New York, the IWIF reports that sales of Italian wines in the USA has increased by 8.4% in quantity and 8.6% in value, despite the unfavourable exchange rate dollar-euro. Among the wines that have made a major impact on the American market are Prosecco, Franciacorta and Soave, while wines from regions like Marche, the Maremma and Apulia are constantly becoming more and more sought after.

Italian wines are also doing exceptionally well in the new markets with fast growing economies, such as Russia (+ 43% in value), China (+55%), Hong Kong (+35.5%) and India (+13%), where wine drinking has not been a tradition. Exporters are now hoping to reach similar success rates in South Korea, Taiwan, Malesia and Singapore
