FLIGHTS OF FANTASY PAVIA

On the 4 th of 5 th April 2010, Belgioioso Castle in Pavia (Lombardia) will be transfomed into a world of magic and medieval mystery for the 2nd Belgioioso Fantasy festival. Organizers claim that this is the biggest event  of its kind in Europe, featuring 3,500 children dressed in medieval dress, plus another 500 costumed participants.  

Some 200 stands, workshops, taverns and games recreating  the atmosphere of the Middle Ages will be set up in the Castle grounds.  The 10 entrance ticket for children includes their costume, imitation weapons,  enrolment and training for the role they are chosen to play. A troupe of animateurs  will be on hand to coordinate the various adventures geared to suit all ages and abilities. Within the castle area, the currency used will be Elfin coinage.  Horse riding and jousting, falconry and fairy dancing will complete the entertainment. Last years edition attracted some 25,000 visitors.
