ROME OPERA SUCCESS


Romes Opera House, the Teatro Costanzi, reports a successful season, with 32% more spectators than the previous year 2010. The season, that ran between November and May 2011, saw an increase of 30% in season tickets and an average of 1200 spectators for every show.

The 2011 summer programme, traditionally held in the spectacular setting of the ruins of the Baths of Caracalla, features  the old favourite Aida (a Caracalla stable) and Tosca, as well as the ballet Swan Lake  Tickets are already almost sold out for the gala evening of dance on the 22 July with Scala etoile Roberto Bolle. There will also be a special concert of Ottorino Respighi Trilogia Romana conducted by Charle Dutoit and accompanied by special light and shade effects designed by Spanish film director Carlus Padrissa.
