HOLLYWOOD RETURNS TO ROME

Woody Allen revived the trend, popular with American movie directors in the Dolce Vita days, of using Rome as a film set when he filmed “To Rome With Love” in 2012. Earlier this year, James Bond, alias Daniel Craig, immortanized hair-raising car chases in Rome's historic centre for “Spectre”, the 24th in the spy series. Residents of the Via Nomentana area had their movements restricted during the four-day takes at Villa Torlonia, former residence of the Kings of Italy and Benito Mussolini, whilst the fascist-era Museum of Roman Civilization in the EUR district was tempoarily transformed into a cemetery.

The latest arrival has been Ben Stiller with a vast film crew to take over Rome's second largest railway station, the Cavour Station, better known as the Tiburtina,  for four days, transforming it with movie magic into New York airport, for “Zoolandia 2”.
