This year's Doge's Ball (6th February 2016), considered to be the most sumptuous event of the Venice Carnival, takes as its theme: The Secret Garden of Dreams. The guests will reconstruct the atmosphere of the celebrated Venice Carnival of the Casanova epoch, wearing the period costumes designed by Antonia Sautter, designer and events organizer.
Held in Palazzo Pisani Moretta on the Grand Canal, the Ball occupies the three floors of the palace, transformed into magical dream gardens, ranging from the Oniricum Garden of Eden on the ground floor, Immaginarium, or the Garden of Memories on the piano nobile, and the intriguing Desiderium, the Garden of Forbidden Dreams, on the second floor, in honour of the mythical Venetian libertine Giacomo Casanova.
Michelin starred chef Corrado Fasolato is in charge of the refined dinner menu while a range of newly created cocktails will be served by the barmen of Venice's top hotels – the Europa Regina, the Danieli and the Skyline Rooftop Bar of the Molino Stucky Hilton.
