On the occasion of the 44 th National White Truffle Fair at Acqualagna (Marche region),  Mayor Bruno Capanna is launching a new frontier that will delight food lovers everywhere at the Gastronomic Republic of Acqualagna, ruled by King Truffle. The royal seat is in the Palazzo del Gusto (Palace of Tastes) in the central Piazza Mattei, where all sorts of international events dedicated to the towns celebrated product are to be held during the Fair.

Within the territory of the Republic  a series of seven tourist itineraries have been mapped out based on the DOP food products of the surrounding Marche area, including the ham of Carpegna, olive oil of Cartoceto, caciotta cheese from Urbino, Verdicchio wine from the Castelli of Jesi and the Fossa cheese of Talamello, in addition to the two truffle tours in the programme.

The Fair runs from the 25 th till 31 st October and the 1 st, 7 th & 8 th November 2009.
