3 MONTHS OF MUSIC IN LAND OF VERDI

15 towns within a 60-km radius in the provinces of Piacenza and Parma, known as Terre Verdiana (Verdi Land) in honour of the famous Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi, born at Roncole de Busseto, Parma in 1813, are staging a three month musical event between the 11 June- 29 August 2010.

The 8 th edition of Music in Castles involves some 60 international and Italian artistes and presents a vast programme of music genres ranging from classical to jazz and opera to folk. The concerts and dance performances take place in spectacular local settings, such as castles, manor houses, churches and historic squares. All events are free, with seating garanteed for all.

The programme can be combined with special weekend hospitality offers, with many discounts for tourists visiting the local attractions, including a trip on the River Po and a visit to the Museum of Food in Parma and the Museum of Parmigiano Reggiano in Soragna.
