ROME REVIVES OSTIENSE TERMINAL

Stazione Ostiense Archivi | Cronache Cittadine

Rome has finally revived the Ostiense Station, built for the World Cup in Rome in 1990 and intended as a brand new terminal connecting Rome's metro system with Leonardo da Vinci airport. The Terminal, however, was not a success at the time, due to difficulties of connection with Rome's main Termini station and services were eventually discontinued.

After a long period of decline, the station has been upgraded and reopened, with four floors occupied by the Eatitaly organization, promoting all Italy's gastronomic goodies. The new station will host the brand new Italo-NTV (new travellers' transport) train service, with flaming Ferrari red fast trains connecting Naples with Rome in 48 minute and Florence-Rome in 115 minutes, in addition to Rome airport. Travellers are also facilitated by the installation of an 800-capacity car park.

Eatitaly has 23 restaurants and snack bars in the Ostiense Station, as well as eight rooms dedicated to wine and food tastings and educational courses on nutrition that will be open also to children.
