The International Short Film Festival Urban Islands will be back this year on Tiber Island, Rome, screening this year's winning shorts during July 2013. The event, which has grown in popularity since it was introduced three years ago, is open to international film-makers from all over the world, in any language but with subtitles in either English or Italian.
The works of the finalists will be shown in the Cinelab theatre of L'Isola del Cinema (Cinema Island) and the winner will be elected by a panel of screen professionals headed by Giorgio Ginori, L'Isola del Cinema artistic director.
There will also be a Special Critics' Award and a People's Choice Award, chosen by the public attending the screenings. Participation in the contest is open to all film creators and is free of charge.
