According to research by Jfc, an American consultancy company that focuses on travel and trends, Italy is seen as the most romantic place for weddings. In 2012 six thousand couples from different countries chose to marry in Italy.
The overwhelmingly top regional choice was Tuscany, for 43.5% of the couples. The Amalfi Coast, in second place, came a long way behind with 9.9%, closely followed by Umbria (7.7%).
The cities of Rome, Florence, Venice and Verona are all favourites for tying the knot, while the latest wedding locations to attract foreign couples include the Salento area and the region of Apulia.
