Il Tè Nero del Verbano vince il Gold Award - il Titolo

Italian tea grown in Verbania (Piedmont) scooped the Gold Award for international black tea at the International Black Tea Tasting Competition (December 2019), organized by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, against fiece competition from growers in India, Kenya, Korea, Thailand, Malesia, Turkey, Nepal and Vietnam. The plantations of Black Tea del Verbano are situated in the National park of Val Grande, near Lake Maggiore. Harvested for the first time in May 2019, the Italian tea passed all the admission tests for the black tea competition in China with flying colours, going on to win first place. Verbano Black Tea is organically produced in the open air, thanks to the favourable climatic conditions in the Verbania province. The Italian plantation is the second biggest in Europe, after that of the Azores.
