The Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI the Italian Environment Foundation) is to undertake funding the restoration of the city of L'Aquila most famous monument, the Fountain of the Ninety-nine Spouts, damaged in the recent earthquake. The fountain, which is located in a picturesque setting within the old town walls and represents the ninety-nine communities that allegedly founded the city, dates back to the 14 th century and was remodelled in the 16 th century.
