ITALIAN HOTELS LOWER PRICES

According to recent figures, the financial crisis has determined a drop in tourism to Italys main art cities and hoteliers are adjusting their tariffs accordingly. After a constant rise in visitor figures during the boom years between 2001-2006, Venice has registered -12.6% in hotel bookings this spring, followed by -10.2% in Naples. Rome, Florence and Milan hotels have also registered a similar trend.

Bargains are therefore available, with room prices down by an average 4.6% compared with 2008 and further reductions are expected over the summer months.

Business travel, conferences and trade fairs have also diminished.
