ITALIAN CARTOON CHALLENGES DISNEY

Cuccioli. Il Codice di Marco Polo! (Babies. The Marco Polo Code) is the title of a new Italian cartoon film about to arrive in Italian cinemas. The film, designed by brothers Sergio and Francesco Manfio, is based on a popular Italian TV series and features a group of  baby animals who set out to save Venice from the wicked witch Maga Cornacchia, who wants to drain the lagoon. In order to thwart the witch, the friends have to find the Marco Polo Code (no apologies to Dan Brown!) and find the Magic Palace. The film is three dimensional, but viewers will not need to don 3D specs, which the Manfio brothers believe annoy children. Cuccioli. Il Codice di Marco Polo has already been booked for distribution in twenty countries and was presented at a recent Unesco Conference aimed at heightening childrens awareness of the need for environmental preservation
