BOURBON CUISINE PROJECT

The Campania region and Sicily are launching an interesting culinary event at Sorrento centred on the cuisine of the Reign of the Two Sicilies. The Kingdom of Two Sicilies was ruled by the Bourbon family until the Unification of Italy in the late 19 th century and comprised the entire southern half of the Italian peninsula.

Until the 20 th December 2010, a number of Sorrento restaurants will be serving menus based on the glories of two centuries of Bourbon cuisine, adapted to modern tastes. One of the most popular dishes to look out for is the Two Sicilies Pizza, created by internationally famous pizza chef Antonino Esposito, which will also be available in pizzerias in Milan and Turin.
