FABBRI ART PRIZE



The Fabbri company, best known for its Amarena, or maraschino cherry liqueur, will hold the prizewinning ceremony of the fourth edition of the Fabbri Art Prize on the 28 January 2012. Founded in 1905, the competition was launched in 2005 to mark the company's centennary. The present edition, entitled Un Secolo e 7 (A century plus 7) involves 30 art creations related to the Amarena image.

The 16 paintings, 7 sculptures and 7 photographic images will be exhibited at the Bologna Academy of Fine Art until the 28 February. The opening on the 28 January will be prolonged till midnight with free entrance.

Fabbri was founded by Gennaro Fabbri as a distillery of liqueurs and concentrated syrup drinks and achieved its greatest success with its world-famous maraschino cherries in liqueur, bottled in distinctive blue and white ceramic pots specially made of Faenza pottery. The company is now a leading producer of sweets, icecream and cakes, with 1,200 products, exported in 74 countries.
