NEW GUIDE TO VIA FRANCIGENA

Walkers will greatly appreciate the new guide to the 200 km tract of the Via Francigena, the historic pilgrims route to Rome from Canterbury, that runs between Radicofani in Tuscany to the Eternal City.The guide, entitled La via Francigena nel Lazio, Radicofani, Proceno, Roma, is divided into nine walks, with maps, distances, estimated difficulty, suggested required equipment and advice on where to eat, stop and sleep. Written by expert hiker and excursionist Alberto Conte and published by Touring Editore and the Lazio regional government, the ancient pilgrim itinerary is divided into the following easy stages Radicofani to Acquapendente, Acquapendente-Bolsena, Bolsena-Montefiascone, then progressively on to Viterbo, Vetralla, Sutri, Campagnano, Roma La Storta, and finally St.Peters  basilica leading through the Park of the Insugherata in order to avoid city traffic as much as possible.
