The seaside resort of Jesolo (Veneto) is to host the 22nd Edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most important events for wine producers and buyers in the world. Between the 1st to 3rd May 2015, Jesolo will welcome over 320 wine experts from over fifty nations to judge some 8000 different wines from 58 countries.

Founded in 1994 in Belgium, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has a triple mission: it aims to give producers the opportunity to rate their wine by experts, to give distributers an overview of international market trends and to inform consumers regarding quality/price in an ever expanding global market.

Past editions of the Concours, which have been held in Maastricht, Lisbon, Bordeaux, Valencia, Palermo, Luxemburg and Bratislava, have produced surprises and launched new stars. Blind tastings and rigid controls ensure that the best wines win, even if they are virtually unknown.

Italian winners of the Gran Medaglia d'Oro in past editions include: Ottobre Rosso from the Tenuta I Fauri (Abruzzo DOC) 2012; Primitivo di Terra 14,00 from the Cantolio Manduria SCA (Primitivo di Manduria DOC) from Le Vigne di Sammarco SRL (Primitivo di Manduria DOC) both in 2011; Tre Secoli Superiore Nizza from Tre Secoli SCA (Barbera d'Asti DOC) in 2010; L'Autentico Bianco from the Cantine del Notaio (Basilicata IGT) in 2009; Burson Ravenna Rosso Tenuta Uccellina Russi from the Consorzio Il Bagnacavallo (Emilia-Romagna IGT) in 2008 and the Passito Passione from Bragagnolo vini Passiti (Strevi DOC) in 2007. All these wines were available at the recent presentation of the coming event in Jesolo at the seat of the Foreign Press Association in Rome.
