LINOSA NATURE CAMPS FOR SEA TURTLES

The Student and Youth Travel Centre (CTS) opens its Nature Camps on the Island of Linosa  (Sicily) between May and October 2015 to young people who wish to spend a working holiday looking after the sea turtles that come to lay their eggs every year on the shore.

The Caretta caretta species of turtles risk extinction and helpers flank the team of of biologists and vets monitoring the site and protecting the young turtles as they hatch out and head for the sea.

The Centro Recupero Tartarughe Marine (Turtle Sanctuary) of Linosa has saved over 1000 turtles over the past years. As financing depends largely on the Nature Camps, particpants are asked for a contribution in order to sustain the research and conservation activities.
