CREMONA: A WORLD OF MUSIC

Un giorno a Cremona: tre cose da non perdere - InformaCibo

The Cremona Mondomusica, the most important international Fair of musical instruments and luthiers, runs from the 25th - 27th September 2015. Last year, the Fair attracted 240  from 28 countries and over 15,000 visitors.

This year's event has expanded to include not only string instruments, but also pianofortes, wind instruments and an Acoustic Guitar Village.

The Piano Experience is the only Fair in Europe focalizing on pianos and keyboards. The Cremona Winds section, dedicated to wind instruments, is another first for this year's edition.

The Fair features 125 events, including concerts, presentations, conferences and round tables with some 300 performers and speakers.

Cremona is known as the birthplace of the world's most celebrated luthiers, whose production dominated the world of string instruments for over two centuries, starting with Andrea Amati (1500-1577), The art reached perfection with Antonio Stradivari and Guameri del Gesu, whose instruments have never been surpassed and are still coveted by both professional soloists and collectors.
