The Veregra Street Festival, one of the most important Italian annual events featuring street performers, street art and street food, is set to transform the historic centre of Montegranaro (Marche) into one big playground between the 18th _ 25th June.
The programme features over 100 shows by professional artistes from all over the world – conjurers, clowns, acrobats, dancers, jugglers and firework experts. The Veregra Street Food section sports a large area accommodating quality food on wheels for food vans and stalls withn gastronomic specialities from various Italian regions.
A new initiative this year is the Teatro nelle Fabbriche (Theatre in the Factories) which aims to fuse street art with the craft of shoe-making, which is a speciality of the area.
The Veregra Street Festival and the town council of Montegranaro are also putting on an exhibition by the famous photo-reporter Mario Dondero, who was a frequent visitor to the town, right up till his recent death.
All the events are free.
