On the 13-14 October 2018 many little known or rarely accessible Italian sites will be open to the public for the special Fondazione Ambiente Italiana FAI (Italian Environment Foundation) weekend. This is a rare occasion to visit 660 hidden art and architectural treasures, as well as many protected beauty spots. There are 156 different itineraries to choose from in practically every part of the country.
FAI runs its "Remember to Save Italy" campaign until the 31 October, with a small donation requested from participants to help support the Foundation's activities. Those who are already members during the event can enjoy reductions and exclusive visits.
The Fondazione Ambiente Italiana has 122 delegations. Special emphasis is placed on encouraging the participation of young people with 88 FAI Youth groups.
