The Campania Region scooped up prizes in three out of the four categories for this year's Gruppo del Gusto (Gourmet Group) of the Rome Foreign Press Association awards. Members of the Gourmet Group voted the Graziella canned tomato company, commending the firm's ethic code regarding fair working conditions (Category: Production). The Pasticceria Andrea Pansa of Amalfi was nominated for the category Historic Establishment, sharing the honour with the Restaurant Roma of Amatrice, recently reopened after the 2016 earthquake that devastated the town.

The Union of the Historic Pizzerias of Naples won in the Category Consortium-Associations, while Professor Ernesto Di Renzo, an authority on the anthropology of cultural heritage and gastronomy, was nominated "Best Propagator (Divulgatore)"

The ceremony took place in the spectacular rococo Court Theatre of the Royal Palace of Caserta, followed by a gourmet meal in the converted Palace stables, now seat of the Consortium Mozzarella di Bufala DOP.

Now into its fifteenth edition, the Foreign Press (SE) Gourmet Group's annual awards have become an important reference point for the promotion of excellence regarding traditional Italian food production, long-standing family-run hospitality establishments and experts in the science of alimentation.

Previous editions have been held in Alba, during the celebrated Truffle Fair, in Florence and in the Rome flagship of Eataly.
