Filming of the Italo-Chinese production of the movie The Italian Recipe is to go ahead as planned despite the problems of the current Coronavirus epidemic, according to the film company press office. 'The Italian Recipe is a romantic comedy set in Rome involving a famous Chinese pop star, on visit in Italy to perform in a show, and an immigrant Chinese girl who works in a laundrette. Their love story will be played out against the incomparable backdrop of Rome's splendid monuments and beauty spots and, directors and producers hope, will capture the interest of the vast Chinese public, curious about Italy and everything Italian. The film is directed by Zuxin Hou, creater of the award winning documentary My Dad is a Rocker, who also wrote the script in collaboration with Alberto Simone. Co-producer and director Cristiano Bortone explained that the project has been developed through the Bridging the Dragon project of the association of Chinese and European audiovisual creators. The Italian Recipe is the second official Italo-Chinese co-production.
