A group of artists from Rome and the surrounding area will be exhibiting in Los Angeles, USA, at the Italian Cultural Institute between the 20 April  and 21 May 2011. Promoted by the Rome Provincial government and the emerging arts organization, Depart Foundation, the When in Rome  exhibition involves 30 new generation artists. Curated by Luca Lo Pinto, the show will be a kaleidoscope of the visual and contemporary art scene in Rome, encompassing painting, installations, cinema, music and pop.

A selection of films illustrating aspects of Rome life will be shown as part of the programme. These include:Roma by Federico Fellini, Terra di Mezzo by Matteo Garrone and L'Imperatore di Roma by Nico D'Alessandria.  In addition, Luigi Ontani, one of the best known new Italian artists will be staging a special performance at the LA Hammer Museum, in connection with the exhibition.
