On Sunday 13 November 2011, the town of Siena (Tuscany) and the Enoteca Italiana are celebrating the third edition of the European Day of Wine Tourism.

The entry ticket includes a welcome glass of wine in the beautiful frescoed rooms of the medieval ex-hospital of Santa Maria della Scala and entry to the Medici Fortress, seat of the Enoteca Italiana, where the products of the Siena region vintners are on show, with free choice tastings available between 3 pm-8pm.  

At 5pm visitors can enjoy the treat of a vertical tasting of the Noble Wine of Montepulciano Docg Il Fattore reserve (years 2000-3-5 and 7) and at 6.30pm it will be the turn of Chianti Classico Dpcg Riserva di Fizzano (years 2005-6-7 and 8).

Those deep into wine lore will appreciate the presentation of the book L'uva nel bicchiere (The Grape in the Glass) by enologist Teresa Severini Zaganelli at 7pm.
