VATICAN OPENS GIARDINO QUADRATO @ 24 Mar 2013

From Monday 25 March 2013, visitors will now be able to enjoy the Giardino Quadrato , the 7,735 sqm garden within Vatican City, once reserved for the use of important guests of the Holy See. A typical Italian garden, divided into four square areas delimited by hedges, the garden was designed in the 16th century by the architect Jacopo Meleghino for Pope Paul III Farnese.

The area has been provided with new benches where visitors to the Vatican Museum can relax under the dome of St. Peters.

Entrance to the Giardino Quadrato  is included in the ticket to the Vatican Museums.
