Turismo, Carovigno nella top 20 delle località low cost in Italia ...

Radice del Sud (Southern Roots), a company dedicated to promoting the territory of Southern Italy, will present a vast range of the best wines from autochthonous vines of Italy's Meridione at Carovigno (Brindisi) between the 5-10 June 2013.

137 cellars from Basilicato, Apulia, Campania, Calabria and Sicily, with a total of 236 wines, are expected to take part in the Radice Wine Festival, where a jury of international experts will participate in a blind tasting to select the best.

Southern Italian wines have seen a steady increase in export figures over the last few years, with Germany resulting one of the best markets. The wines of Puglia have been especially successful, with an increase of 23.7% in 2012 over the previous year. Calabria has also done well, with an increase of 22.3% (2012-2011). Campania has upped wine exports by 16.9% (2012-2011), Basilicata +12.8% for the same period, and Sicily, which was already doing well, is up 2.6%.
