EXPO MILANO 2015: ITALY PAVILION @ 21 Nov 2013

The plans and scale model of the Italian Pavilion designed for the Milan Expo of 2015 are on public view in the Room of the Guard of Honour at the Presidential Quirinale Palace in Rome until 15th January 2014. The Pavilion, which will be the centre piece of the six-month World Fair, is inspired by the concept of the Tree of Life and personifies a 25m-high surban forest, with a casing of thousands of intertwining branches.

The design, selected by an international jury last April, is by the architectural firm Nemesi & Partners of Rome.

The chosen theme for the Italian Pavilion is VIVAIO, (the Seedbed), in which Italy will display a nursery of fresh ideas, proposals and innovative solutions to meet the challenges of today. The 2015 Expo has as its focus Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life.
