The Veny Valley and the towns of Courmayeur and Saint-Didier will welcome some 350 artistes from Italy, Scotland, Wales, Poland, France and Canada between the 3rd -6th July 2014 for the 18th Great Celtic International Festival of music, art and culture.
Created in 1997 by the Clan Grande Orso Association, the festival has grown from year to year to include 300 traditional and Celtic-themed events of concerts, dance, poetry readings, conferences, traditional games and historic re-enactments. Most take place in the Forest of Peuterey in Val Veny under Monte Bianco, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled valleys of the Valley D'Aosta region, but part of the programme will be staged in the mountain resort towns of Courmayeur and Saint-Didier. Special coaches will be running from the main cities of the neighbouring regions of Piemonte, Lombardia and Liguria in order to reduce private car transportation.
The Festival ends with the great bonfire of the druids.
