In Italy, gastronomy, wine and art are never far apart. The 19th February 2016 will see the opening of the first major exhibition dedicated to the Vivarini, the Venetian family of artists of the '400 and '500 who ushered in the Renaissance artistic revolution. The exhibition: I Vivarini Lo Splendore della Pittura tra Gotico e Rinascimento (I Vivarini the Splendour of Painting between Gothic and the Renaissance) runs in Palazzo Sarcinelli at Conegliano (Treviso, Veneto) until the 5th June 2016.
The exhibition is one of many events organized by the 15 towns of the area to celebrate their nomination as European City of Wine 2016, elected by the network of 1000 wine towns Recevin and presented at the EU Parliament, Brussels. The Prosecco of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG (denomination of controlled geographic origin) is produced in the fifteen small towns of the area and is one of the major success stories of Made in Italy of the last few years.
