Farm holidays in the Alto Adige (South Tyrol) region now include a special surprise for small guests. The masi (farms) adhering to the Gallo Rosso (Red Cockerel) brand  are assigning a hen to every child staying with them. The children can then visit their hen each morning to see if it has laid an egg for their breakfast.

The Red Cockerel farms lay particular emphasis on contact and familiarization with the farm animals  giving city children a unique opportunity to come into close contact with traditional domestic animals. An iniziative launched by  the maso Gallo Rosso Hof am Schloss is bound to prove popular with young guests. In September 2010, the farm will make gifts of the guinea pigs born this spring to all the children who have learned how to look after them during their holidays.
