Contemporary literature, with the participation of writers of international renown, is to take the stage in the ruins of Pompeii between the 23 and 29 July 2010.

Centred around the theme; Words in Travel: Pompeii and the Grand Tour, the event will feature American writers Gore Vidal, Jay Parini, Jim Nisbet and Ethan Canin, who will discuss the concept of the Grand Tour and the contribution it made towards spreading knowledge of the art, culture, history and traditions of ancient Pompeii throughout the world.
