The city of Venice is to introduce a special waterbus service for tourists from the 1 June 2012. The Art Vaporetto will cover Venice's main cultural sites along the Grand Canal and around the basin of St. Mark's. The service, which will be run by the city's public transport system ACTV, will be based on the hop-on, hop-off formula, to allow tourists to visit the sights on route. The waterbus will also be provided with a multimedial information system describing the various points of interest.
